Birch Essential Oil Distillery Tour!

We will be traveling to Woodside Oils in the small town of Kane, Pennsylvania to tour the distillery and see the process start to finish of distilling our lovely Birch essential oil.

Native to the Northeastern United States, birch trees are generally used for lumber, wood-chips, and paper. With the production of Birch essential oil, the bark is now also being distilled for essential oil, after which the post-distilled bark can still be used for mulch, leaving nearly zero waste. Birch essential oil comes from the bark of the Betula lenta tree, known as black birch, cherry birch, or sweet birch. Birch essential oil has been used traditionally for many years, but it has typically only been available in small volumes due to the complexity of raw material preparation and distillation.
